The National Professional Golf Tour is the creation accomplished golfer and businessman Larry Lunsford. Professional interest in Mr. Lunsford in golf began in Florida, while working as an apprentice in the signature of Jack Nicklaus in Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando. In 1996, he accepted a position at Grand Cypress Resort, the sister course of Arnold Palmer's Bayhill Country Club and Lodge, as an operator apprentice. While attending school during the grass at night, Larry learned all aspects of golf course design, maintenance and management company and during the day he worked on golf courses. In 1996, Larry continued his interest in golf with the founding of the American Amateur Golf Tour, " world's largest amateur golf tour. Larry sold the tour to an investment group in 2005 and is now known as the Golf Channel Amateur Tour, and transmitted in the Golf Channel cable.

The National Professional Golf Tour was born in 2009 at the wish of Mr. Lunsford to give players a chance to win hopefuls their way to the PGA Tour. In 2010, Larry NPGT and joined forces with Arnold Palmer Golf Management, Century Golf Partners and to provide a dream for some of the best golfers in the United States. The NPGT is also a supporter of Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, 150 beds for the care of children Central Florida. Raising money for charity is one of the main objectives and its NPGT tournament directors.

In March 2010, aspiring golfers have the opportunity to participate in professional golf tournaments around the country. The National Professional Golf Tour (NPGT) is launching a season of 12 tournaments each of the 22 cities around the country. Sponsored by Sports & Parker Proplaya golf tournaments are designed as a springboard for professional golfers whose ultimate goal is play on the PGA, Nationwide or Champions Tour.

Unlike other professional tournaments, golfers participating in the National Professional Golf Tour will have to travel throughout the state or region to find a tournament. The locations and opening hours are combined with the ease of buying membership packages, eliminate travel weekly hotel and restaurant expenses and the outrageous ticket price that characterize other tours. The NPGT provides golfers with a competitive golf experience that is affordable and convenient.

In 2010, the hosting will NPGT tournaments across the country including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Seattle, San Antonio, Miami, Atlanta, San Diego, Phoenix, Kansas City and Dallas and more. In 2011, the tour will expand to include Chicago, Nashville, places in North and South Carolina, Colorado and Louisiana. Members of the National Professional Golf Tour to compete on the premises of his tour, and any NPGT national tournament.

The NPGT is open to professional golfers of all ages that can compete in one of the two divisions. Any player with a handicap of 4 or more can compete in the Open category, while reserves the Masters division for players 40 years of age or older with a handicap of 6 or higher.
