Most if not all golfers would want an improvement in their golf swing. But unfortunately for most of us, differences in body structures will primarily determine whether or not we need to be at the practice range once a day for a year or once a day for ten years. This is affixed given and cannot be altered so one just has to accept it.

Step number one in improving your golf swing is acceptance. Accept the fact that you will not have a great or greater swing than current or past golf legends. Do put into your mind that you will have a unique swing like no other and that only you have this. Factor in your age also in accepting the real facts. You cannot swing harder or better than everyone on the course, especially if they are much younger and had more practice.

Thus due to limitations given by age and mindset at times alongside physique, different people will have different needs. It is much more important to focus on the quality of the practice you do than the quantity. This will go a long way in preventing serious injury in the long run.

To get more quality in your practice means you have to warm up properly and get rest accordingly. This means that you have to properly stretch before any exercise and to rest at least a day in between practice sessions. This is due to the phenomenon called muscle memory.

The third step is for you to count on your muscle memory. Muscle memory is the way that your brain and muscles adjust to any new activity. Give it time. Once muscle memory has been achieved swinging your golf club will be as natural as walking or breathing. A golfer once said that there are two things a person cannot forget once he or she has learned it, and that is driving a car and swinging a golf club.

Thus once you get the movements memorized, the next key thing is to improve your swing through proper breathing. Focusing on your breathing and exhaling one second prior to impact will greatly improve your distance and accuracy. If breathing correctly affects accuracy in archery and shooting, it will also affect accuracy in golf.

The sixth and final important step in your key to improvement is visualization. This is the act of closing your eyes before you go up to the tee and seeing how the ball will leave your tee, how it will fly through the air and where it will land. This is a proven technique working up to 60% of the time. With these odds of two thirds working in your favor just by imagining your game before you play, it is a powerful and important step for you to use.

Bettering your golf swing is critical when you want to lower your score. Your golf fitness will be increased when you refine the power and accuracy of your form.
